The main objective of this Dining Room design was to give the small, narrow window the illusion of being much larger by adding draperies that hide the window’s edge and use added fullness to deceive the eye. This was achieved with silk smocked top drapery panels, tone on tone trim, and antiqued wrought iron hardware. Other changes include a warm, neutral paint color applied in a Venetian plaster finish, reupholstering of the six dining chairs, an area rug that serves to both soften and ground the room, and artwork that completes the transformation.
